Hi, sorry for not naming the thread properly. I will try again.
I been looking throught the threads and constantly see some people sayin some softwares let you read live data and some dont.
What sofware will allow me to read live data through the diagnostic port on an E36 325i (OBD1)?
I found this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...id=p2761.l1259) on ebay which isnt that far from where I live but had no reply from the shop yet. Would this let me read live data such as O2 readings from my engine as it's running?
Just got the kit sorted, going to go and see how it works.
But a bit unsure about what reading do I need to look at to see what the Lambda sensor is reading? Anyone who used CarSoft 6.5?
Before I got anywhere, I got a "Faulty Cable" error:frown
Im having to use a USB to com convertor because the silly laptop doesnt have one and the PCMCIA doesnt look too promising either as I have an Express Card instead:frown
Any suggestions? Or have I done something wrong?
Is there a certain sequence that I have to connect everything up?
Its no bother, best way to solve the problem to be honest:thumbsup
And yea, I had ignition at position 2. But do I connect the cables up first, then turn on the software and then turn the ignition key to position 2?
Hi, I been trying to install the PA Soft 1.4 all day and no luck. Just cant install the drivers. But its going onto a stupid vista which isnt helping I think.
Not live data, but you may find some other pins in the diagnostic plug have analogue voltages from sensors.
