You can't clear the green ones, when reset you have a row of green with a couple of yellow and red on the right hand side.

I'm guessing you mean you can't reset it to get the green lights back?

Those panels can go faulty by themselves, will be loads of articles on here and the net about that.

Could you reset the service lights before this diagnostic issue?

Be careful that you aren't adding every pre-existing issue you had to the issue at hand and confusing things by widening the scope of your problem.

OK so is the pin that powers the reset when you bridge it to clear them also required for power in the diagnostics? If so and if it is not live you have a common element between both problems.

You haven't said if that sympton coinsides with this problem or was present before.

    Or a red herring.

If you have never been able to reset the green lights and / or oil service / inspection on the display then, while they may be connected, chances are including this in scope is a mistake that will divert you from your goal.

    HI!,

I have the exact same problem .. I think my OBD port under the hood is not working .. did you ever find out what the issue was?

Unlike you, my can has never been scanned .. thats why I'm unsure it works.

I would be very grateful if you'd like to chat about this.

hi there have made some headway looking at wiring diagram all diagnostics modules are conected by the same two wires to diagnostic socket so i checked to make sure was no wiring problems which there was not so i decided one of the modules had to be faulty so removed abs module conecter and now it scans everything else ok!so from this i think the abs module was interferring/blocking the scan tool!
that leaves the oil reset which i did try again and still not working so i think thats controlled by the check control module?if so then the module must be faulty/not communicating therefore not resetting the oil/service lights!

I have made progress as well and tried an INPA/EDIABIAS OBDII interface which worked .. its just my BMW-SCANNER 1.3.6 which does not work now. Are you in the London area?
