I've just fitted a towbar to my 328 convertible 1996. I've had no problems with the reversing sensors but since I fitted the towbar I'm getting the long beep as soon as i select reverse. Have I done something or is it as someone said that the sensors are getting confused by the towball thinking that I'm close to something.? If that's the case is there a way to recalibrate them. Cheers.

Oh and ive heard all the sarcy comments about the towbar.

Reversing sensors are picking up the tow ball. Sorry but I don't know if it can be calibrated to get around the issue.

As an update. I've picked up the caravan and brought it home. When i put the car in reverse it started to make the noises it should when reversing and since removing the caravan. Towball still on the sensors are now working again? Did they reset themselves or was it a loose connection which freakingly fixed itself when in reverse with something behind. Maybe the sensors had something else to focus on.????
