Seen someone in USA advertising general module repairs. Does anyone have any experience of this or know anyone in theUK that can repair them?
    Thanks, Jon.

Intermittently, rear doors and petrol flap fail to lock/ unlock and also the lower part of tailgate cannot be opened.
If I remove the general module and give it a 'whack' (technical term) everything fires back into life.

Right, it sounds like the regular relay problem.
I have got some relays that should be suitable, but I'd want to test them first, I've got a "sensitive" version rather than the original "regular" version.

You can buy the relays or a repair service on ebay.

I've looked on eBay and could find anything but will try again.
You wouldn't have an item number would you?
I've also emailed people advertising ECU repairs but have had no luck.

You could try forum member Colin Abraham, he offers a C/L repair service which includes replacing & soldering the C/L relays in the E46 GM5 unit?
Just give him a bell, his contact details are on his site BMW Electronics Repair
