    hi iv got a 97 e36 323ise saloon runing 200bh and now im bord with it lol so i was thinkin a m engine . i was told that the 94 e36 3.0 m emgine an ecu would work with my loom and gearbox just plug in and go is this true ? eny help will be gratful thanks

    Nope, there's other stuff like the vanos control ECU which wouldn't have a plug on the loom.

    so i would hav to chang the loom as well .would i need the ing key with the m engine ? and fuel pump ? and would the my gearbox work with it? thanks

    Check your gearbox, ZF is good, Getrag would work, but ideally could do with changing.

    Fuel pump is the same, if your ECU has a label with a big Bosch logo and an 0261 number, you won't need a key.
    If it has a silver label with small writing on it, then it needs the key that came with it.

    thanks im goin to look at 1 tomoz .engine loom and box but not think it has the key this will help me .is there anythink i shud be lookin out for wen buying a 3.0 m engine?

    Not much you can tell off the car, ideally, listening to it running, and history is the best, but that might be tricky if it's already out.

    yes it already out .but he has got S/H and mot up to 90.000mils so shud be ok and he wants £1200 for it i didnt think that was tobad
