318i 93 car will not start using battery but starts ok using jumper leads, changed alternator, charged battery still the same. Battery voltage drops when connected. Not connected 13.45v when connected and ignition off 10.45v any ideas why the volt drop please.

you obviously have a drain on the car and with a big drop in voltage like that it will be a high ampage component, make sure your rear screen demister is off as i have seen these drain a battery very quickly without ignition, also connect the live terminal on the battery and then in the dark touch the negative terminal on and see if it sparks if it does then something is drawing a current the only way round it is to see an auto electrician or remove 1 fuse at a time while trying the earth terminal each time, then when it doesnt spark anymore you have found the circuit with the drain and need to address it by checking all wiring and components on that circuit.

Make sure it's not something like the boot light staying on

If you're comfortable with a multimeter you can try this;http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Parasitic-Battery-Drain
