I am on nmy way to a rally this morning and my E36 M3 Evo powered rally car has suddenly died for no reason. I have had a team of people inc auto electricians looking at it last night but no one can find anything wrong. It has had EWS removed. It has fuel, it starts to turn over and then dies instantly. All electrics work although engine doesn't. Not sure where to go from here but big rally starts at lunchtime, need to leave around 10am. Based in Southampton. If anyone has any ideas please call Chris on 07974 205170. Thanks. Welcome - Team Notax

Not a cam/crank sensor? Have you had the fault codes read?

Thanks, those have been checked and ok. Car fires then dies, fault codes show ECU fault. Cant swap ECU as mine has EWS disabled and others wont work.... Any other ideas appreciated, preferably by phone for speed. Thanks

How big is the spark at the plugs?
Also has the fuel pressure been checked?
Is the DME wet? the housings are known to flood.

Still getting no where with the car, although there is a BMW electrician checking it today. All ended ok at the rally, I took my previous BMW M3 Compact which I am about to sell, drove very carefully as I've just had a new engine fitted and full respray, but managed to get a trophy for 3rd in class When I find out what is wrong with the new car I'll post the details. Thanks for your help guys!
