    Hi guys

Hope you can help with this one and hope I have put it in the right place if not could one of you kind mods move it cheers.

I have an e46 2002 convertible options fitted are heated seats dsc tpms. I want to remove the tpms as it doesn't work and the sensors I think are missing from the wheels. To replace these will cost over £400 which I'm not prepared to spend. The question I have is if I buy a switch panel with roof controls heated seats and dsc but not tpms will this just plug in its place so that when I remove the led from the cluster it will effectively look like it never had tpms or is it more complex than that?

    thanks

    Matt

Sensors in the wheels? You got an American import or something? . EU models get the monitoring signals from the wheel speed/abs sensors based on rolling radius of each wheel. You need to get the fault codes read to see if any of them are playing up.

Oh ok wasn't sure eBay had sensors listed so assumed it was that any idea how much to replace the parts I might need or whether my method of removal will work as I'm not fussed about having it to be honest

I would try and make it work again so fault codes would be a start

ok is there an easy way to check those at home or is it a job for a garage? It really annoys me seeing the light come on lol and if it going to cost much would rather get rid of it to save the hassle

If you've got INPA or somthing similar, you can do it. Must be a half-decent BMW independant over in Coventry?

If you do still want to remove the TPMS hardware, you should be able to "code it out". I'll check in the morning when i've got all my kit out, and get back to you.

Fal that would be brilliant if it could be coded out will happily pay for that to be done couldi the change the switch panel so it doesn't have a random button there? Would you mind having a look at the codes for a few beer tokens i work over in leamington if that is anywhere near you or would happily bring it over for you to check out.

    cheers
