hi guys just wondered if any Knows what the difference's are between the m50 engine and the m52 i have a m52 engine and wondered if a m50 wiring harness will plug straight on it if not what the differences are would really appreciate some help:eek
I haven't the foggiest on this one I'm afraid:confused
I should imagine there may be sensor plugs that are different. I swapped an M51 engine into my touring in place of an M51 and there was a slight difference on the air flow sensor. Mine had a meter fitted into one of the induction pipes and the replacement was just a sensor bolting into the bottom of the inlet manifold.
Also, one engine had a self levelling oil thingy ma bobby on the bottom of the sump and the other did not:confused
i have a m52 engine i wana put in my 99 compact ive been told m50 engine will just plug in and the m52 i will have to change the whole car loom which if i can just replace loom on the engine i would rather do my compact has one big round plug to the fuse box i pressume m50 has 1 but m52 has 2 round plugs
I would like to know the difference too-I have a replacement M52 gearbox on my rear seat and would like to know if it will be a straight swap onto my M50 engine
As for m52 wiring loom, don't know for sure but I'd say that it will work, they did do a 323ti which was a m52 after all. (2.5 litre engine.)
