Hi all 1st thread, i have a problem with the dash warning showing that there is a fault with my rear offside sidelight, however the lights appear to all work!
When i had an auto electrician check it, there were 4 sockets for the bulbs, but none visible for the sidelights! I have a 53 reg last of the e39 model 525d es se, it looks like the sidelights are possibly led , the spark said that it looks like a sealed unit & he could not see where the sidelight bulbs were!
Can anyone help, the warning bong... is driving me mad!!!

Yes, it has 4 bulbs which are obvious as per the diagram, brake, indicator, reverse, fog, however the sidelights are 4 strips(almost led?) running horizontally along the middle of the lamp,it is these that we can't find the bulb for, are they longlife? We have checked all the other bulbs & they are fine, the sidelights work however we wonder if 1 of the led's have gone which is causing a voltage drop, thus showing up on the warning matrix on the dash!
