    Hi all

I have a problem with my BMW business radio i was fitting a parrot hands free kit today and when i was reinstalling the head unit the plug for the aerial sheared off. I have tried to relocate the cable back into the plug but nothing seems to keep it in place. The plug seems very small and not readily available i dont know if i can get another plug or if the hole Lomb is needed for it??????
Any thoughts or advice would be great
    Thanks
    Tom

Aerial leads are a 2 part thing. there is a single strand wire running through a central 'core' and then a woven-strand of very thin wires which surrounds this central plastic sheath.

As such, you cant just push the wire back into the broken connector - the two parts of the aerial lead need to contact two seperate parts of the plug.

Just to make things more confusing for you there are two styles of plug - DIN and ISO. Most aftermarket stereos use DIN, most cars come with ISO, hence the need usually for the bullet style DIN-ISO adaptors when changing stereos.

Depending on what the plug looks like you need either this (ISO connector):
ISO Male Crimp Aerial Connector Converts bare wires | eBay

    or this (DIN connector):
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

both of these are crimp-on style connectors, so you only need expose a bit of the wiring on the aerial lead coming from the car and crimp them onto the new connector, that should give you a shiny new aerial plug and lovely clear reception!

    Hope this helps,

    Tom

It will be the one in the link almost certainly.

They are one size only, the ebay picture just makes it look mahoosive.
