Im getting a couple of gauges to keep an eye on my oil ect, now my first question is which is a good switchable live to have them turn on from and which is a good earth wire to have them spliced into?? Will be ideal if anyone could lead me in the right direction

Also ill need to run a wire into the engine bay from the drivers side is there a bung i can access from inside or from the enegine bay into the cabin?? Its a 318is if that makes any diffrerence

Have a look at using the live from your stereo...that will be ignition switched. Use the earth from there as well. As for getting a wire though to the engine bay, you may want to look at drilling a small hole and using a rubber grommet to seal .

there is already a hole with gromet if you take out the glove box pull the carpet back and almost in the middle of where the glove box should be on the fire wall just feel around there you will find one, it pops out just under the battery tray. could you let me know how you get on with the gauges as iv been thinking of doing this for a while.
