Basically.. got an E36.. just bought some CCFL Angel Eyes.. obviously setting those up as side lights..

im guessing i can run them off the side light wiring without any issues? and always.. im thinking of wiring my current side lights, up to my low beam.. but not sure how hard it is too run multiple lights off the same feed?

any idea's would be great, as i fancy doing it, buuuuut think i might get myself into a bit of a pickle

    cheers

    Mikey

i dont understand what or why you would want to do this???

you are installing angel eyes which will be on when you turn your side lights on,

but you want your side lights to come on with your dipped beam?

Everytime i've seen it done, you pull back the old sidelight bulb holder, and use those wires to power the angel eyes.
You don't really want the dull glow of 5w in the sidelights when you have the angel eyes on.

in effect the angel eyes become the side lights, and you would never need them on

just confussed as to why you would want the sides on with the dipped beams

well basically.. ive blacked out my headlights.. aaaand my dip beam isnt overly bright.. so i was thinking of running HID's as normal dib, then put some Ultra White bulbs where my side lights used to be.. the angel eyes ive just bought arnt road legal, so thought if i rigged the twin beam up as my low beam it wouldnt draw me too much attention.. but still be able to see my blue angel eyes..

keeps police off my back and actually helps me to see aswell haha

im not sure on the idea at the mo.. was just an idea as my low beam isnt overly bright.. but either way il be rigging up the angel eyes and ditching my gay 5w side lights!

Your sidelights are on when the dipped beam is on anyway. When you install the angel eyes your are removing the normal sidelight bulbs and replacing them with the rings so both will be lit up. I just fitted angel eyes to mine and its easy enough to do but will take a couple of hours

oh i see, that sound even more confusing lol

but in theory wireing the side lights in to the dipped beams should be easy,
firstly i would cut the wires that go to the side lights, and crimping these into your angel eyes
then i would use the wires that go to your side lights, and crimp a connector on to there

then i would cut into the wires that go to the dipped beams, and crimp the other end of the connecter on to there, with both wires in there, so your dipped beams still run,
then connect the two connectors together

your side light will now be connected to your dipped and should all work

does that make sense? sometimes my explinations are a bit confusing lol

Should be easy enough to do, just strip the sidelight wires and solder the angel eyes onto them then replace the sidelight bulb with brighter one's. Not sure about volts and wattage though, maybe someone else can clarify?

cheers guys! and yeah got it in one mark! basically trying to make my dip beam brighter, as blacking out my headlights looks good in daylight, but is pretty savage at night..

i might get a low beam set up from another bmw.. then modify it so i can run higher that 5w where my sidelights used to be.. then run the power and switch lines into my current low beam.. il run HID's in my normal low beam, and run some ultra white xenon bulbs where my side lights are..

in theory.. il keep you updated.. haha

another fun thing, i have to fully wire in front fog lights! that should be bundles of fun! lol
