    HI All,

I wanted to get some advice, I'm sure we have some BMW technicians here and or people involved in MOT testing,

I have a e92 and it has the old favorite problem with one of the dipped beams, I believe its a problem with the ballast being on its way out. When you switch the dipped beam the passenger side light flashes 3 times about 1/2 a second apart before going on steady and is fine after that.

My question is would that fail on an MOT test?

I have read the testing document here -> MOT Documentation Contents Page

and the only reference I can find is

"Two front position lamps must be fitted, one on each side and show a steady white light to the front (or yellow if incorporated in a yellow headlamp)."

but thats just in the information section its not in the section listed "Reason for Rejection."

I'm probably answering my own question but my plan was just to call a testing center and ask but, I would like to see what people here think?

    Thanks!

Wouldnt think they'd fail it. As long as after that it doesn't flicker. Good luck

If u say it flashes first then that could be a problem but otherwise if the headlights have a low aim it comes under advisory, well thats wat happened to me anyway
