I'm hoping someone here can answer my question. I have a 1993 BMW 318is with the M42B18 engine.
I've been getting a lead in the head in the first spark plug cylinder so I decided on the weekend to install a new rocker cover gasket set.
All over and done with but during the activity, I completely forgot to mark which HT lead ran to which coil
Have put it all back together, and wasn't starting at first. Changed the leads around and it's now running but I think I still have the wrong firing sequence as it feels very rough compared to before I changed the seal.
From reading around it seems that the engine is (front to back) 1-2-3-4, and the firing sequence is 1-3-4-2. But the problem is I unplugged the leads from both the coils and the plugs so i don't know which is which.
Can anyone tell me which coils which, and where these need to go? Heres some pics of how I have it right now.
Thanks for any light you guys can shed
