guys i am having some issues with my locking and a garage told me to try to reprogramme the key to one of the fobs.

it worked at first then i think i followed the wrong instructions for my type of key - have the bmw logo in the middle and the unlock one end and boot release other end and its oblong shaped (the key fob yo must cut open to replace battery)

i got in car put key in ignition tuned to first turn, then off, removed held down unlock whilst pushing lock 3 times then released unlock - now doesnt work at all - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The key fob battery shouldn't need replacing, the battery gets charged every time it's in the ignition.

    To re-program the key,,,,,,,,
1.Unlock the car and get into it closing the door behind you,
2.switch the ignition on and then off and remove the key,
3,press and hold down the unlock button, then while holding the unlock button down press the lock button briefly 3 times within 10 seconds.
4.release unlock button, the central locking should lock and unlock rapidly to indicate correct programming.

I will close this thread as you have the other running, please reply in that one .
