I've got an interesting electrical / logistical problem.
Yesterday a friend text me to say that he'd just driven past my car (parked on the road away from my house) and the alarm was repeatedly going off so I went to investigate. The alarm had obviously sucked the battery as pressing the unlock button on the fob didn't do anything, alarm still going and the doors remained locked. I already decided that the battery would need recharging so tried to open the boot, that worked to my surprise (using the contact button on the boot itself, not the fob).
I proceeded to remove the battery to turn off the alarm and take it back to the house to recharge. Once the battery was out I automatically shut the boot.
So, now I have a locked car with no battery in it ... how the hell do I get the battery back in? I immediately realised my stupidity and went to the drivers door to use the key to open the door and realised that the only external key lock on the drivers door isn't working either, the lock mechanism seems broken! I'm literally locked out of my own car.
Are there any tricks you guys know for getting power back into the system in order to unlock the car?
