    Hi,

So i took my cluster apart to install Chrome dash rings and colour the needles red - no probs there, and looks fine!!

However after putting the cluster back together the buttons wouldnt push in as before.

After some forceful pushing they now push in as they should but it appears i have broken them as the trip reset now doesnt work nor does the button to change the clock from 12hour to 24hour function.

Anyone know if these buttons are replaceable, if they have a part number, or do i need to buy a new cluster just to have these buttons working again?

Not seen a separate part for these unfortunately, and can't find a part number on E46 for them. Perhaps someone else can.

wheres the pics? quite fancy seeing how they turned out. You are not the first to bugger up the buttons when doing the job though. Seen a few victims of this on other threads/forums

I never took any "before" pics but will post some of the finished article after work today.

Guess i'll have to ring round a few breakers to try and get what i need to fix the buttons.

Its a BMW, so the before pics are not needed. Seen one you seen em all

interested to see how the afters turned out though. That said, I wont be doing the same, I am cursed at the moment so can pretty much guarantee I would kill the buttons.
