Hi im new to bmw but surely this is a strange one for you guys!

My idrive will only start in cool temps eg 1st thing in the morning and when it cools down at night time.
At weekends when im not up early for work again the idrive wont start up because the temp is up a bit.

It can work any time of the day if there is a chill in the air but leave it in a bit of sun (its not even summer yet) and no it just keeps loading up asif the computer is re booting.
All i get is the bmw badge then a blank screen and so forth.

Any one able to shed any light on this?
And trust me im 100% sure on the temp thing, when its cool outside it works even if the engine is warm and when it gets slightly warm outside the idrive wont work even if the engine is stone cold.

    Thanks suggestions pls
    The car is a 2005 widescreen with nav in a 530d e60
