If anyone could offer any advise I would be very grateful!
I've recently pruchased a 1999 318tds E36 (Compact shape), which unfortunately only came with the one key (a simple looking grey one which i believe is the original spare).
I've visited my local dealership (Chandlers in Hailsham, East Sussex), who seemed to know surprisingly little about the car and could not determine whether or not it would have remote locking installed... They basically said the only way to find out is to order the key and see if the car responds to it, which leads to my dilema, a remote locking key is £140, whilst a normal key is £54, i'd porbably pay the difference if i knew it would result in working remote locking, but it seems a lot to pay if it doesn't! :(
If anyone could hazard a guess as to how likely it is to have it, or suggest any ways of finding out - i'd be extremely grateful! Thanks for reading.
