Right my car, a 2000 318ti did not come with remote keyless entry, and I want to be like all the other boys at school and have it.

Now I've looked at different sites offering these devices and downloaded fitting instructions, but none match the wiring in my car, From what I've read most BMW's are pre-wired for alarms (but not mine, looked everywhere). Now I've found the ZKE module and the Violet 26pin adaptor for the C/L but I don't know which colour wires control the lock & unlock.

I eventually found a wiring diagram for my year and model but still no match, So PLEASE Any tips/hints/help as I fear I will soon be known as the Keyless Outcast of my class.

    Thank you in advance

Cheers Ronnie for replying so quickly, that site only goes upto 1997 and from what I've read BMW in their wisdom changed the colour of their wiring each year from 98 to 2000

Cheers mate, I've tried that one and I'm sure that BMW North America wiring setup is different to the UK and they're both different to the Euro setup. From checking the ZKE in my car has the violet 26pin connector, whilst the '99 and earlier had the standard E36 ZKE which has the yellow 26pin connector. The only ZKE with the violet connector I've seen is off the Z3 but still the wiring does'nt match, so I still don't know which model they got this ZKE from
