Please help . A friend of mine bought a 330 ci 2001 the other day for 2300 nice car but he was told it needed a bulb or two - turns out it needs a whole new lighting module at a cost of 500 pounds !! Ouch !! The garage isn't playing ball at the moment . Can anybody offer any advice - is there a cheaper way of getting it fixed ?

You should be able to pick up a second hand module, and get some electronic cleverness to get it working.

specialist dismantler like FAB is the best bet. Don't expect that to be the last big bill on a cheaply bought 330 though.

Yep, but that coding is a lot cheaper than a new module from BMW.

    Yep, you've got it.
Recoding it could be £20-50-ish, plus whatever cost for the replacement module.

    Thanks mate
Is the lighting module the actual box with the switches on from the dash - I've seen a load on eBay from 10 -30 quid !
Can you tell me where I would take it for recoding and is it done before fitting or after - like I said 'ficko' !

I'm not certain, but it looks like it might be the switch block.
I'm not sure who'll be local to you, so see if there are any BMW specialist about your way.
