Hi, hope someone can help me here?

I've got a set of E92 sports seats. They're all electric (apart from front lumbar support which is manual); have memory settings; I'm told they have heating; and according to the manual they have backrest width adjustment by the front-most switch.

I'm trying to wire these up to go into a classic, but having a few issues.

In the big yellow connector (X275 on diagrams), I have taken out the yellow and brown (airbags, as I don't need these connected), then I'm left with the following:

    4 - Red/Brown - +12V
    8 - Brown - Ground
    13 - Brown - Ground

    2 - Orange/Green - Canbus?
    3 - Green - Canbus?
    7 - Red/Black - Heating?

I've tried connecting +12V and ground to pins 4, 8, 13 and some of the seat works (forwards/backwards; up/down; tilt; backrest) but only for about a minute... then everything goes dead. If I disconnect and reconnect later on it will work for another minute.. and then go dead.

Also when they are working, not everything works - i.e. front switch (backrest width?); switch on the top of the seat (another forwards/backwards?); and none of the memory functions work.

My thoughts are this is something to do with the "Canbus" (orange/green and green) wires not being connected? But I'm guessing it's not as simple as sticking a +12v to one of these wires..??

Please guys, any help you can offer is appreciated.

I think you may have exhausted the extent of our knowledge on this one Ian. It has been rumbling around via a couple of threads for a while now.

Before we close the thread, can anybody help the OP ?

    Oh right, ok.

You know anywhere that can help me with these? Surely there must be someone that understands them?

What I really need to know is why they only work for a minute and then stop? Is it because they need some signal from Canbus? If so can i mimick this? Or can anyone tell me which chip in the ecu decides to take away the power? If i knew that i could take he chip out and feed power straight to its usual output.

Also does anyone know how to get to the back of the seat switches? I.e. how do you take the plastic cowling off without breaking it?
