I have just bought a 2005 E90 320i SE. The doors all open with the remote fob but will not lock. I contacted the seller who said the fobs need recharged but when I bought the car I drove 45 miles home surely that would have charged the fob in the ignition. I have also checked out the 2 15amp fuses. any ideas.
I have contacted my BMW stealer and the service agent said the fobs may need reprogrammed, can I do this myself and if so how

If the fobs are working at all, they do not need to be reprogrammed. It is true that a flat internal fob battery will cause the vehicle to only unlock, as a warning and fail safe. Perhaps there is a problem with the charging of the fobs? Difficult to be more specific. I have heard of single buttons on the fobs failing, but it would be very unusual for them both to do so...

    Ouch!
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
