1st post on the forum but have had a good look through at all the similar threads, but thought i should start my own rather than use advice given to others.
I recently bought a 2004 e60 BMW 520i Auto 2.2 petrol from a local second hand car dealer.
The battery was flat at purchase and the dealer informed me this is as it had been standing for a while. We jumped the car, i took it for a test drive, all was fine.
I purchased the car and drove it home, approx 50 miles.
The car is fitted with a parrot mk9200 hands free bluetooth system which i'm reasonbly sure at first was saying 'goodbye' and turning off when i turned off the ignition. However it no longer shuts off and i have to remove the screen manually to disable the power to it.
The following days i had all the signs of a low battery (all sorts of error messages, idrive flickering, the lot) I took it to a local garage and it was diagnosed as requiring a new battery. This was replaced and the problems ceased.
A couple of days later i get the High Battery Discharge Whilst Stationary Error message, i have a look online and put this down to the fact that i have done some relatively short trips- as the car is going into sleep mode fine (red light next to transmission is going off after a time)
I am still getting the message but not 100% of time.
Could this be an IBS sensor issue?
Could the parrot mk9200 still be drawing power despite me removing the screen from the device? (mechanic seems to think that it doesnt draw power when screen is removed but he was also unable to fix the issue with it not turning off so i dont know how much i trust him)
Apart from these issues the car starts fine and drives fine.
Any input would be appreciated.
