A few minor issues with my E46 320d.....The rear view mirror does not automatically dip when there's lights on behind me and the headlights seem to point to much to the ground....is there any way these can be easilly adjusted?..I have set them to point as far up the road from the driving position but a mate who has a 330ci says they should still be higher!

You need to manually adjust the lights from behind the light unit. See:

    I hope this helps.

The rear view mirror has an electrochromic action. That is when the mirror senses the ambient light is low (at night), the surface of the mirror goes dark (like photo chromic lenses). This effectively reduces reflected headlights and reduces dazzle. It is quite subtle, but when you compare it to the outside door mirrors you relise how effective it is.

But there is no easy way to increase the dimming effect
