    Hello tracker,
Indicators don't flash either. Got it booked in for diagnostics on Wednesday. I had mentioned the general module and he told me it was the likely cause, but not always. He did say that the general module also controls the central locking switch on the centre console too (which doesn't work). Hopefully I'll have it all fixed by the weekend, i'll let you know the scary bit as soon as I get the bill!

    Hey Ricky,

Yep have the exact same problem. Must be common. Good luck with it mate, hope it doesn't cost too much! I have AA cover which covers mechanical and electrical breakdowns (which includes parts & labor up to £500) haven't used it yet, looks like they may be receiving a call if it runs into hundreds.
Keep me updated mate. Thanks again.

neil same with you mate, good luck in finding what you need, fingers crossed.

    Hello Tracker,
Diagnostics revealled it has been the general control module. Got it booked in on Tuesday with a local bmw specialist. Part £231, £45 labour to fit and £40 for the diagnostics all + vat.
Just been to garage to fill up and couldn't get my petrol flap open (obviously staying locked with the passenger door). Roll on Tuesday!
Best of luck to the rest of the 1 door coupe's!

There should be a emergency release pull in the boot for the fuel cap.
Glad to hear you got it sussed, pity it's so expensive though

Thanks for the update Ricky. Funny thing tonight when I hit the open button the doors all opened!!! So I locked them again thinking it had remedied itself but it hadn't lol must have just been a glitch.

Anyway at least now I know what the trouble is.

With regards the petrol flap, inside the boot to the right you will see a green cord sticking through boot covering. Pull this and prise open the boot the flap.

    Cheers again,
Got the petrol cap release (wouldn't have even guessed that one!). I've had mine open once a couple of days ago when I was by myself , but despite being stood fiddling with the key has never done it when I'm needing the other door open! Is it possible for cars to take the piss? Cant wait to get this done Tuesday then finally start to enjoy my new car!
