Well maybe instead of advertising, you could tell me what problem you had and what was the exact solution?

Kib was not advertising, this is the way that the new forum site shows a link to another website.
The rear parking sensors are a common problem, I've changed all of mine. If you've had a bang, start with the nearest sensor and swap it out with a good one (most on ebay are a waist of time) the ones for the land rover sport will fit with a bit of juggling and are half the price of BMW ones. Swap them out one at a time untill you find the problem one. If the bang is not the reason it has failed then the one nearest the exhaust is usually the one to test first as it gets a lot of muck and bullets where it is.
Mirror parts are pricey so take them apart and check the connections. They can get a lot of damp and bad connections. Sometimes the mortors are working OK but the hing points for the mirror glass gets gummed up. A clean up inside each shell and a squirt with WD 40 is the cheap option before you start spending £100's on new mirror parts.
    Hope this is some help.

My adjuster wasn't working but the passenger mirror would tilt down when reversing.

I also realised that if I selected memory recall on my seat, it would adjust my mirrors OK.

It's stopped this now - I potentially put it down to having some moisture or something in the unit/wiring.

Perhaps try again in a few days...
    hi
I was looking at buying a e46 convertible and noticed that the mirrors have the same problem as you are having. I rang a bmw specialist and they told me its a common fault and the only way to sort it is to replace the mirrors.

I had the same problem with the sensors on mine, it turned out to be one of the sensors mis-reading. I had the car plugged into a snap on diagnostic thing and one of the sensors was reading from 55cm to 5 cm constantly, when there was nothing there. Replaced the sensor and problem solved. Got it of E-bay from a bloke called Micklemas2606 for £16.99 including postage bargainIi thought
