on your adjusting switch on the driver's door handle you would have a square button to fold/unfold mirrors but yours won't have one by default. This is what mine looked like on my old 2001 E46 (I loved the black piano on red combo )

I got my 2005 E46 while still having my '01 and the only option it didn't have was autofolding mirrors so I was going to swap the mirrors. Sadly the cables and fittings were different so I couldn't swap so I thought I'd just get some compatible ones afterwards but I've never bothered. The problem is the auto folding are quite expensive and more expensive than the original optional extra price of £175 (possibly £150)

here is a pic of the wires behind the autofolding switch above on my '01 so do you have the same? So bear this in mind if you do buy autofolding mirros that you will also need the switch (as long as you have the wiring). I don't know if the seat/mirror modules will also be compatible though but I'm sure there will be a retro fit guide somewhere possibly on this forum

p.s. for the red/black combo (one of the best in my opinion) lovers here's some more photos of the car

think you need electric seats to work folding mirrors.

do you know if the seat/mirror memory module affects anything in anyway? I've got normal mirrors but would possible swap to folding if I knew it was just a straight swap (obviously I'd need the door handle switch/joystick also)
