    Hi All,

My car alarm is constantly going off. If I'm at the car, I could literally be jumping up and down on the bonnet and it wont go off. But then it will go off every hour or so all through the day and night when nobody is near it!

I'm assuming its a faulty sensor, and need to get it to a garage to be looked at, however I wont be able to put it in until the weekend.

In the meantime, can I simply turn the alarm off? Can i remove a fuse? I have briefly spoken to a mechanic friend who said there should be a key under the bonnet to turn it off? Another forum said if I lock the doors with the key and not the remote, that will lock the car but not arm the alarm?

The neighbours are going to kill me if they're kept up all night again!

Thank you in advance for any help

    John

There is a couple of things you can try.

Set the c/l using the key in the door. This will not set the alarm. It is possible that the interior alarm is cauing the alarm. Try arming the alarm with the key fob and pressing the button twice. This will disarm the interior alarm.

If the alarm still goes off then look else where. Maybe an intermittant door lock fault.
