Hi, I did a diagnostic check on my car today using Carsoft. In the Aircon section I have an error that won't clear. The error is "22 Auxiliary Fan Relay". Does anyone know what this error is as everything seems to be working fine. Will replacing this relay alow the code to be cleared?
    Thanks

I'd say check your fuses for the Aux heater, also check out the relay and possibly swap it for a known working one.

Thanks, I have checked all the fuses relating to the heater and they are all OK. I have looked at the relays but I'm not too sure which one is for the auxiliary heater, behind the glove box I have 4 relays in a row then one to the right hand side. The 1st of the 4 is a light green that has ++0326 on it. The second is orange with no writing on it. The third and fourth are same as the first one and the one to the right hand side is blue with ++0320 written on it.
    Thanks.

Isn't the auxiliary fan the coolant fan? If so there is no relay as far as I can see

Hi, I just assumed it was to do with the air-conditioning and heating because in Carsoft its in the AIRCO section. If it is to do with the coolant fan what and where should I check? The car doesnt seem to be over-heating the temperature gauge is right in the middle so I think the fan must be working.
Below is all the details of the error from carsoft:

Single diagnosis AIRCO - Status ERROR !

    Module Info: AIRCO
    Version: Airco automatic

    Part Nr: 4 125 794
    Code index: 16
    Hardware Nr: 54
    Software Nr: 23
    Production Date: 29/03

    hk15.dxt:

    22 Auxiliary-fan relay

    Thanks

Hi, Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this error code? I have been out for the day today and done 150 miles, I had the air-con all the time and everything seems to be working perfect. The engine temperature also seemed OK. It was right in the middle as usual. One thing I did do was check to see if I could hear the engine fan running when I got home as soon as I pulled up. I couldn't tell if it was running with the car on but it was definitely not running when the engine was turned off. Should this fan have been running for a few minutes after I pulled up? I had been driving for about 2 hours and the outside temperature was about 21oC if that makes any difference. Thanks.

When you have the Air con on, does the pusher fan here work? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...65&hg=64&fg=55

The one between the bumper and the radiator

When I checked I couldn't hear any fans running. Should this run whenever the air-con is running?

Ronnie, Is this the only electric fan, with the other being a viscous fan?
