Hi I had an unusual problem with my drivers side side light & indicator. A warning came up on the dash as I was about to leave my house so I had a look and my indicator bulb was lit up but not flashing and my sidelight bulb was not lit. I checked my full beam & dip and they were both working I also checked the hazards and they were working. The warning disappeared shortly after this and all the lights were working properly. I did have a warning light come up last week when I left the local garage after he had been bleeding the EGR Thermostat and he said some water had got on the belt but would dry up. Could this be caused by water that's got in some of the connectors and do you thing a good spray of WD40 might sort it out.. I did buy a couple of new sidelight bulbs today to pop in. The other thing I wanted to find out is how you get in to change the front indicator bulb if needed.

Ussually when the indicator bulb is on it could be that if u have bought l.e.d side lights the run off less power so the car thinks the bulbs out. Theres a screw thats at the top of the wing right above the indicator threw a small hole that needs unscrewing then the indicator just pulls out

The side light bulbs that are in are the original ones which came with the car 4 years ago. I think I will put in the new ones tomorrow and give all the plugs & connectors a spray with the WD40. I did pop into Halfords after this happened today and explained to the fitter. he just took one look and said if the light is working it's not the bulb. Rather simplistic as I have seen bulbs in the past that will work intermittently so I just bought the bulbs and left.

Think u have started in the right place. Hope its the bulb and not the ballast. I got quoted 280 to replace that from bmw. Needless to say they still have it. Good luck with the bulbs buddy

Replaced both bulbs and had no problem since. Re the indicator bulb coming on when the sidelight is out I now believe may be a safety feature so you are not driving with only one light on at the front.
