Hi peeps, I want to ask whether my current BMW business navigation system can be updraded to the 16:9 wide screen with all functions apart from the TV, with my existing wiring loom? I have the MKIII CD ROM at the bk boot.

    Thanks.

Do you have the small 4:3 head unit or the system that just gives instructions on a one line display / arrows?

Im not 100% sure but I think the 4:3 system can be swapped out for the 16:9 screen with the same loom. The other headunit needs additional wiring to feed video etc to the new navigation display.

    Some useful information: http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/j...er%20Guide.pdf

Hi - it's the one that only gives instructions. Someone said that If I'm lucky this existing unit may have the blue and white adapters for the 16:9 screen, plus I also need either the bm24 or 54 radio tuner.

Then unfortunately I would think that its unlikely that you have all the wiring for the screen. Worth a look behind your head unit but I would not think that BMW left any prewiring for implementation for the screen. Hence you would need additional wiring and also the BM54 navigation radio you mentioned for the retrofit.

There are quite a few guides on Google, such as links here:
