Will the E46 M3 instrument cluster fit straight in as a direct replacement for the 330Ci model? The sealed unit looks like it just clips straight in.

If so, does anyone know if the correct odo reading will show, is this stored in the ECU?

Will the oil temp lights also work? (the main reason I want it)

    Thanks in advance

Thanks, gutted really. There's a nice one on ebay for £75 that would have looked lovely in my rep!

I never said you could not get the cluster to work! But Direct Replacement? with no extra work required?

Sorry didnt quite read the earlier statement properly just glanced
but as for a direct replacement yes there was no extra work required the ops car is a 2001 whereas mines is a 2003 but should be along the same lines.

If you do go ahead and fit them mines do not show the orangey yellow lights when the car is cold and I suspect if you have them fitted you will also have the same problem.

Read a few forum posts now and looks like there are a few problems all round with non matching odo readings causing the tamper light to come on. In addition mines an auto so the gear reading wouldn't work and the mpg needle is gone so I think I'll give it a miss. Thanks for all the info though.
