    Hi,

My first posting after a search for "third brake light" didn't turn up anything.

The third brake light or high level brake light in the tail gate is not working. Can someone tell me how I can get to it to test it and change it please? Thank you.

You can see that it is screwed either side, so you may need to remove the trim around it. You can test to see if power is coming to it through the connector by using a multimeter to isolate the lamp.

Thank you, Neil. The trouble I am having is how exactly do you get at the light?

It would appear that after opening the tailgate window a trim has to be removed. This trim doesn't want to come off and I have already broken one of the lugs. The lug came away from the trim and all my efforts can't get it out. B, F and I is only going break more bits!

I believe the trim is clipped in as well, so you need to pry it open using a trim remover or plastic scraper.
