    Hi there

I have a question for E39 owners, especially for pre 09/99 registered cars (single stage airbag)

If any of you have this MFSW in your E39, does the button illumination remain on at all times?

    Thanks.

I've got the buttons in pieces on my desk, are you sure they go off when the lights go off? I can't see how they would, the LEDs are almost tied to the main power line via a resistor divider.

Thanks. There is a jumbo FET in the powerline, but it could only be deactivated by iBus since no separate Illum wire goes through the slipring. The lights default to on when only power and GND are connected.

Hello mate, I just spoke to dad and he sat in the car and tried it while I was talking to him. No steering wheel lights when ignition on or when the engines running unless sidelights or other lights are on

Yep, shouldn't illuminate without lights on
