Greetings all. I have just put my e38 back on the road after a 4 month hibernation and have discovered it has a fault where the indicators and high beam light on the cluster no longer illuminate/flash. The battery drained and had to be charged a couple of times over the period. It is now charged but is only showing 12.3 volts at rest. I am wondering if the low voltage could be a cause of the LCM/cluster problem? Thoughts?

The car when running is pumping out the correct voltage and the car still starts. I have the battery on charge again just now and will see if it fully charges and shows a more healthy voltage.
    Regards

Nope no difference. Haven't tried deleting the error code yet though.

I pulled the LCM out of the car and found that the middle connector was corroded. I took the part number (61358372875) off the unit and set out to find a replacement. I managed to find a few matching on ebay but really wanted to find one locally. My local BMW indy and breaker is searching for me but can't find the exact number on the LCMs he has. When you search Real OEM it doesn't show up the part number either. It does however show up 6 other numbers. I phoned BMW and asked why and was told the number on my unit will have been superseded and any of the 6 part numbers on RealOEM will work. (after it has been coded)

    The RealOEM numbers are
    61356961141
    61356960254
    61356942695
    61356942692
    61356938288
    61358377398

So long story short if you need an LCM for a 740 E38 then any of the previous part numbers will work.
    Regards
