If I come across a spare holder and bulb I will give it ago and let you know how I get on.
I have found that two of my three illumination bulbs have gone.
Got any good sources where to get some?
I've done loads of searches for the W3W wedges but no luck. Plenty of W5W around but they might melt the dash.
Or is there a replacement in white LED's that would work?
As for Cat light, NO e36 BMW over here had it.
And bulbs can be got from main dealer, number 3 here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...92&hg=62&fg=05
07119905358. price £1.25
Bulb style 504
Do you know what wattage bulbs I need to ask for and how much they are for the warning lights?
I will get some spare ones for the future.
I've just found the wattage, its written on the bulb holders. 1.2w.
Do you know if I paid the postage will BMW post them to me?
Thanks for the link. Much appreciated.
There is a dealer a few miles away but the car is off the road for a few months. I do need to get across there to get a spare key cut but that might not be for a few weeks as I need to get a lift over there and I want to get the car back together when I have the time.
I will say this though. I have never had a BMW before and although its an old car every thing is very easy to get too, like the dash, once you know how to unclipped the cable plugs etc. My old car used to take me what seamed like for ever just to get the dash clocks out to change a bulb. I'm beginning to love this car.
Unfortunately one of the little tabs that lock the pull over locking mechanism on the wiring plugs that plugs into the clocks broke off.
But I found a great way to fix it.
Put a dab of silicon sealant into the hole where the tab brook off and make sure it is slightly above the plastic surround and then gently place the broken tab back into place with a pair of tweezers. Let it set overnight and that's it all done.
The silicon will still give it enough spring in the tab to release and re-lock afterwards.
Hope this helps someone with the same problem.
