    Hello

    I have a 1995 316i E36

I've swapped the M43 engine for an M52B28 engine

    my car is a manual

the donor car where I got the engine from is an auto

the car is running perfectly but I have a small problem

    the reverse lights aren't working

I've got new reverse light swith

checked all the fuses and everything is OK

I've read that I need to wire something up

but my car was already a manual

what can I do to make it work ?

    Hi friend,

    Some suggestions for your problem.

-Check switch is working and fitted correctly, Remove and do a continuity test.
-Check position of switch, when lever is in reverse position that switch is engaged
    -Check connection of terminals
-Check voltage required is the same as voltage supplied.

    Hope this help

    The switch is new

The problem is with the difference in the wiring harness between the auto and the manual
