    Hello!

I'm buying this motor wich is out of the car and I'm trying to test it before I take it.Engine comes with its harness(only engine) and DME(no ews).I have plugged the battery terminals and I placed a switch to start the ignition, and gas of course with pump.It spins up,but the engine refuses to start.I bypassed the white relay to give power to the dme without any result.I'm out of ideas.
It's strange because the engine was working on the car,I dont think that is a mechanical issue.

Anything will be helpful, thanks for your time!

You need the EWS as well, the imobiliser is built in to the DME and gets the codes from EWS which in turn gets them from the keys, all a bit of a pain in the backside

I'm trying to find some info for the dme, without result. It's 0261203075.I'm 99% sure that it comes with built in ews but it was on an e30,so I have to forget about coded keys

It depends on the label, I think the non EWS is black with a large BOSCH and 0261 200 075 part number, the later version with EWS has a silver label instead.

    OK, that's good.
    Have you checked engine earths?

    Some of this might help
    X20 Connector pins
The X20 is the harness plug
