I have a 1995 316 compact and I'm trying to get the remote locking to work,it's never worked since I have had the car.
My key has 3 buttons and no red LED it also has the immobiliser chip, but I've looked at all the guides and non seem to work, but I'm also wondering if I have the correct key as the dealer told me I should have a separate fob and not a key with buttons.
The locking works fine with the key in the lock, but it would be nice if the remote side would work.
    Any help appreciated

Ok lol well try this: turn ur ignition on then off again then hold down unlock button on the key ( bottom left) the press lock 3 times ( the top button) and ur central locking should lock then unlock. Make sure all doors and boot are closed. Then remote should work?

you need to get it tested to see if it's sending an RF signal, if the remote has died no amount of new batteries of programming is going to work
