Hey guys, this one has me bummed...wonder if there are anyone out there who can shed some light???
- I've transplanted an M3 Evo engine with the suspension etc into a 318ti shell
- Retained the ABS pump/ control unit etc.
- also used M3 front suspenion and Z3M rear axle - but same part numbers for the wheel sensors so this should not be a problem.
Like I said, my ABS light is now on permanently even though I had an auto-electrician here this afternoon to clear the fault codes. There are no problems with any of the systems...still the light remains on.
I also changed the instrument cluster to the M3 unit (6 cylinder and oil cooler).
I've compared the wiring diagram for the M3 and the 318ti and there are some slight differences but not sure if this matters - the M3's ABS light switches through the ABS relay, whereas the 318's is directly form the ABS control unit.
The main thing is that the components of the ABS system is all the same to the compact's orginal setup and the ABS system does work. Tested it the old fashioned way - long downhill and lots of speed.
Any help would be appreciated!!!
