Hope someone can help me solve this.

Need to change the battery in my 328i. I have the alarm with the black fob, grey and red button. Think its standard on most BMW's from the 1990's. If I try and undo the terminals on my car battery the alarm goes off. What the proper procedure here??

Need to change it ASAP so quick help REALLY appreciated!

    Exactly what you'd expect really.

That's right, its exactly what I'd expect - but I can assure you that the car was disarmed and I had the boot open and as soon as I removed the negative terminal the alarm went off then stopped as soon as I reattached it again. No one else experienced this?

Ok so if you have had one terminal off why not undo the battery clamp, loosen both and change the battery quickly? Just asking.

I have the same problem mate, fortunately for me the siren backup battery is so weak it sounds for about 20secs then gives up!
Anyway, there is a lock on the side of your siren, if you're REALLY lucky you may still have the key for it, it switches the siren off so you can take the battery out at your leisure.
Otherwise like someone else said, just change it quickly!
