I've been reading up a lot on this subject today ready to fit the system (HAWK HA-280 PRO) tomorrow.

But I am finding conflicting answers all over the internet and here.

I understand I need to connect the lock / unlock cables from the new kit to the ZKE module behind the dashboard?

    The fitting kit suggests:
the lock wire goes to pin 17 white/red/yellow
the unlock wire goes to pin 4 blue/red/yellow

    Notes
"if deadlocking facility desired fit IN4002 (after a google, I found out this is a diode) across common lock and unlock common with cathode (band) to unlock common as above NOTE:without deadlock fuel cap does not lock"

^ I of course want to retain the deadlocking feature, that's my first concern.
Some people say I need a diode, others don't?

and I have seen posts suggesting you also need to connect pin 13 to override alarm or something? - people connecting RCL and upon activation doesn't work without connecting pin 13 to 17??? :S

Basically can someone assist me with an explanation of what actually needs to be done?

    Many thanks

    Great site by the way.

Guys i need help on this asap?!?!

I have wired it in today, the car unlocks perfectly from the fob but it does not lock. Just lots of clicking can be heard from alarm box??

If i lock with the key it's working fine.

I have also attached the indicator flasher cables to the cable going to the hazard warning lamp switch, but the lights don't flash when armed/disarmed???

Someone MUST have experience fitting aftermarket alarms to these cars?

Mine is a 1998 model with the ZKE system and the purple 26-way loom plug behind the dashboard.

Someone please, please help me before i cry :(

cant help with locking as am in same boat there but on my alarm laserline you have to wire it to the indicator left/right and not to hazard for them to work/flash have you tryed taking the wire out you fitted for it to lock with the one that should unlock least you will know its just a position of the correct wire in the correct number in block can you maybe put up alarm fitting maybe others can read and help better
