my e36 has a SERPI STAR alarm fitted , the box/siren is a G20 under the bonnet
, behind the glove box is a alarm box GM5-N and a pir box GM30.

The alarm has developed a major fault and needs removing , the car will turn over and spark but not FIRE.

most of the wires seem to be connected to the central locking system via the narrow multi plugs (green and yellow) behind the glove box.

does anyone know where the alarm would normally be imobilised via the main wiring for the car ?

ps. there seems to be a RELAY (non original) in the fuse box . connect to large positive , earthed to body and the other connected to a white/green wire inside the fuse box.

As far as I'm aware there will be wires to fuel ( connected in loom running down passenger side of vehicle or near to pump )and ignition wires ( under the steering column ) so the car won't start. ( that's if it has a built in immobiliser )

All the alarm wires should be black, soldered and insulated and fitted in a way to appear standard to the rest of the loom.

Nice one mate . I had to do exactly the same when I transplanted the M-Power lump.

Removal is straight forward enough... can't say that I think fitting a new one would be though.
