We are stripping out our e36 track car and have removed the immobiliser, the car will now not start!
the car had a clifford alarm on which had been disabled, then another no name immobiliser had been fitted which has now been removed, we have traced the cables back and joined them colour for colour.
The car cranks over and occasionally backfires and smokes out of the air filter.
the wires that were cut and rejoined were a black/yellow and a green wire which are now joined back together.
The car ran perfectly before, there were 3 wires running from the positive terminal on the fuse board power distribution unit to both of the boxes from the old alarms they had fuses inline andwere spliced into the alarm looms.
is there anyone out there that can help us?

we have also got the rear abs sensors and speed sensor from the diff disconnected and there is no brake fluid in the system.

thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Your 1993 E36 may have "Drive Away Protection" where the Injection/Ignition systems are disabled if car "Double Locked". Have you done anything to the central locking at the same time?

Not internally, but anything could of happened the battery has been on and off for the past 10 days,
we striped out the wiring for the alarm and immobiliser and no longer have the wiring to check were it when and the person that did it is a fool and did it in a rush and did not double check anything just raged it out.
how do you reset the driveaway protection?
