done a conversion using a guide on bimmerwerks http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/faq...ade-58698.html

my 18 button obc came from a 325 4 door
got everything i needed from it and wired it in according to the diagram apart from the 3 check button wires and the green/black one that goes to pin 12 on a black clip behind the glove box (its to do with antitheft and as my car has a different alarm when its connected it wont start)

the obc is gettin power.... all the bulbs are fine... the clock lights up and display some lines as i havent set it up yet

but the big screen on the obc displays nothing
i have double checked EVERY wire is in the correct place.
its not blowing fuses (did it once when the power and ground wire made contact)
ive pressed all the bottons including the one on the bc stalk but still nothing

any suggestions... hoping its a easy fix as im stumped.

also the obc worked fine in my other car that it was in

im thinkin maybe ive blown the obc sumhow

    any helps appreciated

    david

I did mine no probs, You need to find out first if its the OBC at fault or wiring. Is there any way you can test your OBC in someone elses car.

EDIT, - Just looked at the link that you followed to do the install, What a total dogs dinner. You need to use the pelican website, http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...BD_Convert.htm so straight forward and easy, Also, what OBC did you have originally?

just been thru that guide and all my stuff is hooked up correctly, presumably even if it wassnt as long as the power and ground were there it should at least illuminate, also i think i may have tapped in wires to the instrument cluster that were ment to replace existing ones

Sorry to revive a old thread but I have new news, my battery was dying the other day as the engine ground wire had snapped and when the car went to cut out n started to judder the obc light up displaying temperature a few brief times, do you think the battery is putting to much power through it ( might sound stupid but its all I have left) the obc has never ever light up before this
