    Hi,

My e46 has similar problems to this (2005 e46 320d - Intermittent non-start (only cranks) +temp gauge shoots into the red +DSC light flashes [heads up]). Engine cranks, but does not fire. Fuel pump is not turned on, fuel gauge in dash goes straight to maximum. I want to test the blue DME relay based on the previous posters experience, but which pins are which? I assume its a straightforward relay with:

    Ground
    Power supply
    Signal
    Output supply

What unit provides the signal to activate this relay?

    Thanks,

    Scott

There should be a little diagram on the bottom with all the usual assignments, 87/ T30 etc.

I believe the relay is activated by the ECU, so when it gets the "on" signal, it will switch on its own main power supply.

Also worth checking are the "motor sicherung" fuses which will be in a pack of 5 in the ECU box. You can pull up this group as one set, and the top will slide off to show/access the fuses.
