Hi all, I am completely new to this but I am hoping someone might be able to help!

I have 316 1.8 saloon 53 plate, got all the gadgets air con cruise control etc.

The problem I am having is, when I am driving normally sometimes most of the dash lights show up (doesn't affect the drive) but it goes of after a few seconds then all is fine? It happend the other day while I was sat in traffic so I turned the engine of (whilst the lights were on) then tried to turn the car back on when all it did was click click click? I waiting 10 mins tried again and it started? Weird, should prob go have a diagnostics test but was wondering if anyone here could point me in the right direction of the problem?

    Thanks!

Hi I am no expert but the clic clic clic when you turn it over normally means the battery hasnt got enough charge in to start the car same with the lights on the dash do they like flash when the clic noise is heard and does the light for the battery stay on when the car starts I am having a bit of trouble with my battery at the moment so recognise the clic you may have a faulty alternator or the battery could be goosed hope this helps

Hi, checked the battery connections, all fine but I think I'll get a new battery at weekend, someone else said could be a faulty battery, thanks
