When I start my car the collant gauge goes up to the max reading within about 30 seconds and stays there. But when I leave the car for a while it will go to the normal reading and stay normal for the rest of the day. At 1st i thought it was a cooling problem but i have been assured of 2 mechanics that the engine is not overheating. There are a couple of other problems assosiated with this problem.

    - After the collant gauge has gone back to normal the trip counter resets to zero automaticaly...... strange!?!

    - The windscreen wipers sometimes will not go off

any ideas to wha the problem may be??

    Thanks
    Jamie

Most likely a problem with the instrument cluster I'd say regarding the temp gauge and trip counter.

As for wipers, could be switch or relay fault, not one I've heard of before
